TYC 2025“Protecting the Earth, Time is of the Essence” Series

As part of the TYC Group's " Protecting the Earth, Time is of the Essence " initiative, two major events were held on March 21 and 22, 2025: "Earth Hour" and "Beach Cleanup Day." These events brought together global partners to take action on energy conservation, carbon reduction, and marine protection, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.

Series 1 - Earth Hour

TYC Group is actively committed to energy conservation and carbon reduction. This year's “Earth Hour” campaign expanded to include the Group's global partners' participation, from TYC, JUOKU, DBM, TYC America, TYC Thailand, and TYC Changzhou, with participation from 3,053 employees worldwide. On March 21st, from 12:00 to 13:00, employees turned off non-essential electricity to reduce carbon emissions and show our support for sustainable energy through meaningful action

At TYC America’s five locations, employees went a step further by organizing outdoor workouts and environmental cleanups. These initiatives not only conserved energy and reduced carbon emissions, but also helped improve the local environment and promoted employee well-being through mid-day relaxation and fitness in the middle of the workday.

Series 2 - 3/22 Beach Cleaning: Protecting the Ocean with TYC

On March 22nd, World Water Day, TYC Group took practical action to protect the ocean and water resources! Organized by TYC, the event invited employees and their family from TYC, JUOKU, and DBM to participate, with a total of 60 volunteers joining in the beach cleaning. The event was held at Sikkenshen Beach in Longgang, near the TYC headquarters, where employees worked together to clean the coastal environment.

In order to enhance the volunteers' awareness of environmental protection and the importance of waste sorting, we started with an environmental education session, explaining the sources of garbage at Sikongshen Beach and the impact of microplastics on marine ecosystems and human health, reinforcing the significance of the beach cleaning activity. Following this, the volunteers participated in collecting and sorting beach trash, ultimately removing a total of 124.55 kilograms of marine debris:
•  Non-recyclable waste: 93.55 kilograms, confirming the earlier environmental education that fishery-related Styrofoam and plastics were the most items.
•  Recyclable waste: 31 kilograms, with fishing wire being the heaviest and plastic bottles and cans being the most numerous.

This beach cleanup is not only a cleanup effort, but also an environmental education program. Protecting the ocean and water resources is urgent, and TYC Group is dedicated to safeguarding marine environments and contributing to the well-being of our planet.
