Reduction of GHG emissions intensity from the baseline year

Moving with the times to create meaningful impacts to the world

The world is changing at an astonishing speed—people are gradually adopting new behavior patterns, and the feats that seemed impossible in the past are being achieved in a rapid manner through innovative technology. Regardless of the evolution of the times, TYC is committed to supporting customers consistently by continuously providing products that are in line with the times. In 2024, we launched 9 new products and technology R&D results, including full smart lighting for four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles, research on imaging optics, and validation of the optical effects of laser engraving. Among them, 2 products–Multi-Pixel Full LED Motorcycle Tail Light and Full LED Tail Light–won the Taiwan Excellence Awards.

While refining our R&D capabilities, we have also valued and paid attention to global warming and climate change issues. By conducting GHG inventory and verification, setting short-term, mid-term, and long-term carbon reduction objectives, implementing the energy management system (ISO 50001), and replacing energy-intensive equipment as planned, the energy intensity in 2024 dropped by approximately 72.5 GJ/NT$100 million of revenue compared to that in 2023, showing a decrease of around 7.5%. The intensity of GHG emissions was 120.2 tCO2e/NT$100 million of revenue, a decrease by about 15 tCO2e/NT$100 million of revenue, or a decrease by around 11.09%, compared to the result in 2023. In addition, the waste recovery rate was increased to 35%, and 5.4 million liters of in-house water were recycled and reused. In 2024, all packaging cartons were provided by FSC-certified suppliers. Various environmentally friendly actions have been taken to create a sustainable environment.

The shortage of labor and talent has been an important issue in recent years. As employees are fundamental to the sustainable operation of an enterprise, we have not only built a friendly workplace featuring diversity and inclusion, but also been devoted to developing our own talent. In 2024, we invested a total of NT$3,489,409 in 23,114 hours of education and training, established a digital learning platform to provide employees with mobile learning solutions, and organized special AI application seminars so that our employees could acquire more AI-related knowledge and apply it to their work. We also improved the working environment for employees through ergonomic engineering to reduce occupational injuries; there were no occupational diseases or major occupational safety incidents throughout the year. Attaching great importance to human rights management, TYC has officially formulated the Labor and Business Ethics Policy and adhered to the Code of Conduct of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), to ensure the protection of and respect for the rights and interests of our employees. We have also promoted the due diligence and code of conduct for suppliers, thereby building a supply chain system that guarantees co-prosperity and sustainability.

While striving to achieve business targets, we also fulfill our corporate social responsibility by helping the disadvantaged and showing our care for society. The “TYC Tainan City Charity” and “Compassion and Love Foundation” established by the Company have accumulated donations of NT$27,823,460 over the years. In addition, we participated in an industrial park’s streetlight adoption event, taking care of the streetlights for more than 1.54 million hours in total. We have also actively supported fire safety, donating a multi-functional six-axis drone to the Tainan City Government Fire Bureau and investing up to NT$1.4 million in fire safety resources. Through these actions, TYC contributes to society’s safety and common good.

In the continuously changing environment, we promote the level and depth of our services even more proactively, and make optimal resource allocation based on the transformative mindset and our sustainability achievement.

Aiming at “creating meaningful impacts to the world,” we look forward to leading the world further and brighter.
